Ancient Archeoastronomy in Modern Design
Saturday, April 26 2025 1:00 - 2:00pm
Oxford Arts Alliance 38 S 3rd Street, Oxford PA
Ed Rahme Architect, renowned for designing spaces that harmonize with the natural environment, is incorporating the ancient discipline of archeoastronomy to inspire contemporary architectural practices. This innovative approach bridges the gap between modern design principles and the celestial alignments observed by ancient civilizations.
On Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, the Oxford Arts Alliance will host a special presentation by Ed Rahme at 38 S. 3rd Street, Oxford, PA 19363. During the event, Mr. Rahme will discuss how astronomical observations influenced the construction of ancient communities in Ireland, including the Boyne Valley, the mountaintops of Sligo, and the hills of Loughcrew in Meath.
“At its core, archeoastronomy studies the ways in which ancient societies observed and responded to celestial events,” explained Mr. Rahme. “This intersection of astronomy, archaeology, and architecture not only reveals profound insights into the past but also inspires us to create spaces that connect people to the cosmos in the present day.”
This presentation offers a unique opportunity to explore the timeless relationship between the built environment and the heavens, shedding light on how ancient wisdom can inform and elevate modern architectural design.
This event is free to attend, advanced registration is requested.
