SCHOLARSHIPS

Larry F. Thompson Memorial Scholarship

The Oxford Arts Alliance proudly offers the Larry F. Thompson Memorial Scholarship, commemorating Larry's life and the everlasting song in his heart. With over 500 hours of complimentary music education provided by September 2023, this need-based scholarship program is our way of passing Larry's torch and passion for music on to the next generation.

In 2024, we are processing applications for scholarships covering 5% to 75% of tuition, aiming to support as many students as possible. Please note that scholarships are limited to one per family annually AND we may run out of funding.

Scholarship recipients must attend lessons regularly, demonstrate progress and enthusiasm, and undergo an annual re-evaluation. This ensures that the spirit of the scholarship - fostering a love for music and art - continues to be honored. Lack of participation or missing lessons will nullify the scholarships.

Please email jennifer@oxfordart.org if you’re interested in applying. An Oxford Arts Alliance staff member will contact you to discuss eligibility and further details.

Richard Beards Memorial Scholarship

Our scholarship program proudly supports Oxford Area High School students pursuing higher education in the arts. Since our foundation in 2013, thanks to the legacy of Dr. Richard Beards, a founding member of the Oxford Arts Alliance, we've awarded $10,500 in scholarships. Recipients have gone on to attend prestigious institutions such as Berklee College of Music, Savannah College of Art and Design, St. Mary's College of Maryland, Drexel University, Pratt Institute, Pennsylvania College of Art & Design, Delaware College of Art & Design, The Institute of American Music Theatre, and Messiah University. The Oxford Arts Alliance Board of Directors honors Dr. Beards's commitment to education by continuing these scholarships in his name.
