All Things Being Equal Meditations on Balance
In its tenth iteration, the 2024 Oxford Arts Alliance Annual National Juried Exhibition will be hosted at the Main Gallery, a testament to the enduring appeal and growing prestige of this event.
Since its inception in 2014, the exhibition has attracted an average of 300 submissions annually from artists nationwide, establishing itself as a pivotal event in the OxAA’s exhibition calendar. This year, we are honored to have Lisa Bartolozzi as our juror, whose discerning eye and extensive experience will guide the selection process, highlighting works that embody technical finesse, emotional depth, and conceptual innovation.
With past jurors such as Kyle Staver, Stuart Shils, and Al Gury, the exhibition has seen a marked increase in the quantity and quality of submissions. The awards presented by the juror include 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and honorable mentions, alongside the “People’s Choice Award,” voted by gallery attendees, which collectively underscore the community’s engagement and appreciation for the arts.
All Things Being Equal Meditations on Balance
Balance relationships are integral to the creative process. Consider balance relationships between elements: darkness and illumination, rest and movement, weight and weightlessness, physical and spiritual states, or tensions pulling on those balances.
Submit expressions of Balance or perhaps, Imbalance. How does seeking balance show up in your Art, body, mind, work environs, play, creative spirit?
The Equinox is the inspiration for this call for art.
Equi - Equal / Nox – Night, when the duration of night and day become equal.
